PT San Diego!

I'm always nervous when waiting for the sponsorship announcement, even when I think my chances are good. This time I even had to deal with some high-level folks who had seen the list and could neither reveal who was on it nor resist telling people on IRC that they had seen the list.

The list was finally published on friday night, and there was much rejoicing. Pasi and I received the travel sponsorships we asked for. The list is full of people I like and people I've been wanting to meet, such as Mr. Guptil, the only L5 I haven't worked with yet. We're very excited about this trip, it's going to be the perfect combination of work and fun. Our current plan is to arrive a few days early and do a bit of sightseeing (but not too much, one doesn't want to have tired feet before the PT has even started).

I've marked a two-week vacation for myself starting from Midsummer. That gives me exactly four days to get everything together for Nationals and the 10th Edition release, just like in 2005 when I returned from my wedding trip to find out that we didn't have a venue for our Nationals. Of course, I intend to get everything ready before I go on vacation and save those last four days for packing and other last-minute stuff. I'm planning to post my judge call for Nats.fi soon, so stay tuned to dcijudge-l if you're interested.

Before San Diego, we have two other trips planned. This week we're flying to London for a short non-Magical vacation. We're planning to visit various museums and chill out at our hotel in Notting Hill. If we start missing Magic too much, there's a GPT Stockholm somewhere in London that we might check out. The second trip is, of course, GP Stockholm itself.
